Tap Weather1. Provider and scope
Tap Weather is provided by Skybluetech – Paul Ehrhardt, C/ Moya 3, 35458 Santa María de Guía, Las Palmas, Spain, email hello@tapweather.app (“we”, “us”).
The app is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your download; these Terms supplement it and prevail where they grant you more rights. Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app.
2. The service
Tap Weather shows weather forecasts, severe weather alerts, tide and sea conditions and moon data for any point you select on a map, and offers Home Screen widgets and favorites. The data is sourced from third-party providers (section 6). We may improve, change or discontinue features at any time; we will inform you about material changes through the app or the App Store release notes.
3. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Tap Weather on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store usage rules. All rights not expressly granted remain with us.
4. Free version, trial and daily quota
The core forecast is free of charge. The free version is limited to 20 forecast queries per calendar day (the counter resets at midnight, device time) and to a limited number of saved places and markers. After the first launch, Pro features may be available for a limited built-in trial period, after which the free limits apply. We may adjust these limits for future versions; limits in effect are shown in the app.
5. Tap Weather Pro (one-time purchase)
Tap Weather Pro is an optional one-time in-app purchase – not a subscription – that removes the daily query limit, allows unlimited places and markers, and unlocks Home Screen widgets, extended marine data, the surf score, moon details and the conditions dashboards, and removes the in-app upgrade banner.
- The price is displayed in the App Store in your local currency before you confirm the purchase; taxes are handled by Apple.
- Payment is processed by Apple; we receive no payment details.
- Pro is tied to your Apple Account and can be restored free of charge on all your devices via Settings → Restore purchase.
- Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple under the App Store terms; where you are a consumer in the EU, you acknowledge that the digital content is delivered immediately upon purchase and that your statutory right of withdrawal may thereby lapse, as stated by Apple at checkout.
- Pro features depend on third-party data (section 6). If a provider permanently discontinues a data type, we will replace it or offer an equivalent feature where reasonably possible.
6. Weather data and third-party services
Tap Weather uses data and services from third parties, in particular Apple Weather / WeatherKit, Open-Meteo (weather and marine data, licensed under CC BY 4.0), Geoapify (place search), Apple Maps and RevenueCat (purchase verification). Weather data is provided by Apple Weather and Open-Meteo. Their availability, coverage and accuracy are outside our control; forecasts are model estimates and may be incomplete, delayed or wrong. We may change providers at any time.
Tide heights shown in the app are estimates derived from model sea-level data and converted to an approximate chart datum; they are not official tide tables.
7. Not a warning or safety service
Tap Weather is provided for general information only. It is not an official weather warning service, does not replace warnings from national meteorological services or emergency authorities, and must not be relied upon for decisions where errors could cause injury, loss of life or property damage – including but not limited to navigation at sea, surfing, swimming, diving, boating, fishing, aviation, mountaineering, hiking in remote areas or storm preparation. Always consult official sources and follow the instructions of local authorities when severe weather threatens.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) copy, modify, decompile, reverse engineer or create derivative works of the app except where permitted by law; (b) circumvent the daily quota, the trial or the purchase mechanism; (c) access the app or the underlying data services by automated means, or extract, scrape or redistribute weather data obtained through the app; (d) use the app in violation of applicable law or the rights of third parties; or (e) use the app in a way that burdens or damages the third-party services it relies on.
9. Intellectual property
The app, including its design, features, functionality, texts, graphics and code, is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. “Tap Weather” is a trademark™ of Skybluetech. Developed by Paul Ehrhardt. Skybluetech reserves all rights to the content, data and proprietary technology used within the app. Apple, the Apple logo, iPhone, iPad and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. Weather data remains the property of the respective providers.
10. Warranty and liability
The app and its information are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the extent permitted by law. We accept no liability for the completeness, accuracy, timeliness or reliability of the displayed data, or for decisions based on it.
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under mandatory product liability law. For slightly negligent breaches of essential contractual obligations, our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Any further liability is excluded. Nothing in these Terms limits the statutory rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country of residence.
11. Term and termination
You may stop using Tap Weather at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms. Your Pro purchase remains valid for as long as the app is offered in the App Store and is restorable under Apple's rules; sections 6, 7, 9 and 10 survive termination.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the app, our providers or the law change. The current version is always published at this address with its date; material changes will be announced in the app or the release notes. If you do not agree with updated Terms, you must stop using the app.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of the country in which Skybluetech has its registered seat, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you additionally benefit from the mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you habitually reside, and you may bring claims before the courts of that country. We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. Should any provision of these Terms be invalid, the remaining provisions remain unaffected.
